Ps 31:15 My future is in your hands. Rescue me from those who hunt me down relentlessly.
Once again, David is in trouble. Constantly running from Saul is time consuming and exhausting, but a recurring state in David’s life. This time is different. He is stuck in a small town and alone without protection, support or help, he fears no escape will be his death. We never understand how David escaped but we know, God made a way out, just as he will for you.
Countless others have felt trapped in hopeless situations. If that’s you, this Psalm is yours. Turn to God, the Lord of impossible situations for help. Face whatever is “hunting you down,” pray and God will rescue you. Read verse 5, Jesus said the same words while on the cross. Talk about impossible situations, but God intervened.
No one knows the future, but I know who controls everything and decides the future. The same hands that created the universe and formed me in the womb, holds my future. He holds me, protects me, and keeps me with him. He always hears my cry for mercy and answers my call for help. That is all I need to know to have peace.
