Word of the Day is Grace

Ps 23:6 Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.

Goodness and unfailing love is God’s ultimate gift of grace that follows us throughout life. Because we did nothing to earn this divine grace it is undeserved.  However, because he gives grace to those who believe, we can use that grace primarily to enable God’s power and his spiritual healing in our life. Receiving this gift helps us not only to emulate him but also to demonstrate his love to others.

Grace is a virtue from God for our regeneration and sanctification. As we are renewed through his grace we become closer to and more like him. His attitude of love, giving and kindness becomes ours. When we share that attitude with others our world becomes a little nicer. Grace does not exist where there is hatred, jealously or bitterness, but grace will shield us in life after we ask God to forgive us our sins.

As Jesus hung on the cross he forgave those who killed him, and as we forgive others of perceived wrongs he can forgive us our sins. How do we keep God’s grace in our life? We have a choice– if we choose to walk away from him, he will not interfere in our life. But when you choose to return to him all you need to do is ask.  As long as we continue on his path and seek him in everything we do he will never remove his grace from our life.
