By Chaplain Eddie Burchfield
O God, I remember when
I sought excitement with my friends
Growing and sowing our wild oats
Little did I know Satan had my goat:
A little here and a little there
After a while my soul was laid bare;
My usage got worse
My want turned into my need
My addiction is the fruit
Of this sinful need
O God I pray
Hear this addicts cry
Save and heal me
O God I don’t want to die;
God will save
And he will rescue too
That is the reason Christ came
To free people just like you

A modern day psalm. Very nice.
