Become a Member

SCW is a nonprofit organization. We do not require donations to participate in SCW meetings and events. Donations are used to pay speakers, maintain the website, and pay for internet access to hold hybrid meetings. We offer benefits to those who support us financially. See benefits listed below. 

To become a member pick up a membership application from Teena Myers at any meeting or request one by email and pay the donation at any Southern Christian Writer’s meeting or pay online (Click on Make A Donation below).

SCW accepts members nationwide. Email your contact information, a bio, and head shot to and mail the membership donation to Southern Christian Writers, c/o Teena Myers, 249 Jeffer Dr., Westwego LA 70094 or pay online (Click on Make A Donation below).

First year Membership Donations are pro-rated by the number of remaining months. Thereafter, annual donations are received during the months of October, November, December or January as follows:



A member’s page on the SCW website to advertise their writing accomplishments, published works, website, social media and contact information.

Eligible to contribute articles to the website blog after approval by SCW Chairman.

Eligible to hold temporary positions as Members-At-Large on the Board of Directors.

Eligible to promote and sell his/her work without charge at tables reserved by SCW at events, conferences, and festivals.

Eligible to have his/her writing critiqued privately by the Chairman of Southern Christian Writers.

Eligible for grants to attend writing events, conferences, and festivals.

Eligible for 10% discount at the Gospel Bookstore, Westside Shopping Center, 91 Westbank Expressway, Gretna. Must present valid membership card to receive the discount.

Eligible for other rights, privileges, and benefits that may be provided from time to time by the consensus of the Board of Directors.


    • Yes, we have out-of-state members, and you do not have to be a member to participate in the meetings. You can join the meetings through ZOOM. Send your email to and I will add you to the newsletter list. The access information for ZOOM is in the newsletter that releases 1 week before the meetings. We would love for you to join us.
