David Rodriguez is the pastor of Christian Fellowship Church, 5049 Ehret Road, Marrero LA. He is married to Linda Rodriguez. They have four children, nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
His first book Questions From Job explores the origin of Satan, the problem of evil in a world created by an all-powerful and loving God, the true motivation for service to God, the insidious power of legalism, the purpose of life.
In his latest book, The Lord’s Supper: What It Is and What It’s Not, David Rodriguez examines some of the claims made for the Eucharist celebration, such as:
- Administering grace
- Providing eternal life
- Imparting forgiveness of sins
- Furnishing the presence of Christ
- Repeating the sacrifice of Christ
He also explores the different traditions regarding the sacraments and, more importantly, the basis upon which these traditions are established. The author addresses these issues from the perspective that the Scriptures are the only infallible guide to Christian doctrine and that the primary source of church doctrine must be the teachings of Christ and His apostles. The reader should be prepared to have some of his or her deeply held religious teachings challenged by the word of God.
David founded Koinonia Bible College in 1991 to provide training for ministry that is accessible and affordable. Koinonia is the Greek word for fellowship, which best describes the philosophy of the college: to strengthen the Body of Christ by utilizing each believer’s gift to the edification of all. He also serves as President of Therapon Institute. Therapon offers Biblical Counselor Certification based upon an exclusive faith-based therapeutic treatment model, Belief Therapy, not solely as an alternative to traditional treatment and recovery programs, but to help identify life-controlling problems and to process the deep spiritual recovery issues of hurting and healing people.
He writes Biblical theology, Non-Fiction, and Bible commentary.
