Diane Coleman

dianecolemanDiane is a native of Marrero, Louisiana and has been a resident of the Algiers community since 1974. As a woman of integrity, she takes pride and humility in her role as a wife, mother, grandmother family/community counselor, and leader. She is a member of the historical Regular Baptist Church of historic Gretna, La. where she serves as the formal president of the History Ministry and founder of the church Historical Museum. She has had the opportunity to participate in several church programs as a speaker and participant. She also served as the Second Vice President of the church Health Ministry and assist in organizing community Health Fairs and Church Museum School Tours.

Diane has been instrumental in creating and organizing numerous programs and organizations on the New Orleans East Bank and Jefferson Parish West Bank. My extensive community service extends the 1980’s to the present. As a Community Historian, she had the opportunity to document several west bank communities and trained community members on how to document their families and community history.

Her writing experiences include newspaper articles, creating and publishing newsletters, brochures, pamphlets, community and church program books.
