Pam Harrelson is certified by the American council on Exercise as a Personal Trainer. In the past, she has been certified by Cooper Institute and Apex as a Nutrition Coach, under the strict umbrella of Registered Dieticians. She worked for seven years at large athletic clubs and the last seven years as a free lance trainer.
Pam relies on position statements and position stands from large scientific bodies such as USDA Dietary Guidelines, American College of Sports Medicine, and American Dietetic Association. These position stands are in public domain.
Pam has retired at age 61 and counseled or trained approximately 2,000 clients over the course of 14 years.
As a civic mission to the public, Pam was facilitator for the Lifeway Educational program, which teaches a healthy lifestyle, in three different locations. For years Pam gave motivational seminars to civic groups and churches to motivate folks to get off the couch!
Twenty years previous to her health and fitness missions, Pam directed Prison Ministries at her church.
Pam’s friends and five grandchildren enjoy her retirement as well. She has street bikes for them, bike paths, and kayaks where they have a relaxing paddle on the bayous. She loves pulling the kids on a tube from her jet ski and trolling the Tchefuncte River on her yellow party barge, called Mimi’s Crew.
Now that she has retired, Pam’s burning desire is to help bariatric patients to achieve the same peace and balance she has and for them to stay off that miserable dieting roller coaster. She hopes to do that with this well endorsed book and with follow up workshops, which have been a success in the past. Pam will offer these workshops at Bariatric Clinics to pre-op and post-op patients.
