Althoff, Rosemary

Rosemary Althoff received her B.A. in English at the University of Kentucky. There, author and poet laureate of Kentucky, Wendell Berry, taught her to write, not just stories, but her heart.

            Soon after graduation, she worked as a Lutheran missionary in the Philippines. After returning to the U.S.A., she worked for God’s Word to the Nations Bible Society. A master’s in communication research at Cleveland State University oriented her toward science and teaching. From there, her career centered on teaching communication and writing at various universities and colleges in Ohio.

        Two novels in her series, A Soul’s Warfare, are published by Winged Publications: The Hot Marble and The Cave Chamber.The first book in the series, The Hot Marble, won 2nd place in the YA science fiction division of the 2020 Living Water Awards. The third book, The Horned Edge, currently in progress, won 1st place in the YA science fiction division of the 2022 Living Water Awards.

            Rosemary lives in New Orleans, LA with her husband, a pastor. She thoroughly enjoys reading, writing, painting landscapes, playing the piano, and taking walks or hiking. Her favorite Bible verse is Romans 4:5 (RSV): Now to him who does not work but trusts Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is reckoned as righteousness.
