Ps 18:25 To the faithful you show yourself faithful; to those with integrity you show integrity.
The dictionary states integrity as “the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles, moral uprightness.” From the beginning, humankind had trouble following this promise of God. Whenever a man had to choose, his first instinct was to pick the easy way. However, this usually produced a question of character and true faith in God.
My manager called me to her office to discuss a moral and ethical situation that needed to be resolved with a permanent outcome. After the topic was on the table, I started my response with “to be perfectly honest…”, and was told management knew I would give an honest and sincere answer. That is why they called me to discuss the problem. The “boss” said they knew the standard I held myself to and admired my resolve to be honest to a fault. That statement surprised me. I had always tried to maintain integrity, but it had been a challenge in the workplace.
Whenever in doubt and dealing with sensitive situations, always remember the Ten Commandments and the Golden Rule. These guidelines will assist you through many dilemmas. Being an example of God’s love and living his principles may not be easy, but if human management took note of my integrity, how much more will God.
