After Amy earned a journalism degree from Troy State University, she served two years as a missionary in Africa. Then she spent almost twenty years teaching special education. Amy stepped out of the classroom in 2022 and began blogging and writing children’s chapter books about neurodiversity. Her husband is a hospital chaplain. They have two children with autism and ADHD. She also writes special needs curriculum for LifeWay and other publishers.
