Teena Doll
By Barbara Jones
She’s never selfish, this woman of God,
Helps everyone with different things she does.
Her love travels on the wings of a dove.
Who knows, maybe it’s the beginning.
What to do, where to go, ask her whatever
She’ll go online, look up whatsoever
Teena, Teena mirror, mirror, tell us all
The reason why she’s such a kind soul
CHORUS
Singing, writing, and sharing talk
We all get together and no telling what
The future holds as it unfolds
Because she took the time to meet
This song came out like seed she sowed
Because I came here I took a seat
I thank God for Teena Doll so sweet
She gives us time and she is such a treat
I thought I was alone I wrote
Songs and poems of many things
Of sorrow, joy and the past
When we are forgotten, we cease to exist
Different lives, ages, and times
We all feel heard and on each others side
If you wonder where you fit
Just come to Southern Christian Writers and sit
REPEAT CHORUS
Where there’s a beginning, there is an end
If you need or what to share my friend
You are welcome here, so don’t fear
Relax and breath you are loved right here.
I am here, because you were there
When we are forgotten we cease to exist

Inspired by Teena Myers, Southern Christian Writers President. The first sentence came as I walked to my kitchen. As I wrote the first sentence, the words came flowing so smoothly from my pen.
