Just Because: A Mothers Love and Roar

Just Because

A Mothers Love and Roar

By Barbara Jones

She’s strong and warm

And seen by all

There’s no mother like her

And I’ll tell you why

No matter what, she has or not

Her love runs hot, as she gives a lot

Like a car needing water

Love flows out, every drop, from this mother

CHORUS

See her face look into her eyes

She always seems to have some surprise

Going, talking, tunning, walking,

She’s up early and she wakes

Her children are always in her thoughts

God says don’t worry, I’ve got them

As her head raises up, from her nightly vigil

Her name is Debra and she’s my sister

She gets up, puts her makeup on

Always wears lipstick and grabs her phone

She never gives up, always hangs on

Waiting by her telephone

Her time and energy are not a loan

You can’t pay back a mother’s love

She is a mother like no other

A sister, friend, let me tell ya

As long as she’s alive, she thrives

See the life in her yellow eyes

Hear the mother lion roar

She seeks no recognition or pay back

All she longs and waits for you to call back

All she does is just because

Her love flows and flows, even now and she’s old

She leaves memory after memory

Day by day they seem to grow

I don’t know how or what she’s got

But she runs on, the love from her heart

REPEAT CHORUS

I’m her big sister and as I woke

God gave me this and so I wrote

Debra’s heartbeat is love

And it’ll never run dry, because she cries

Her tears speak louder than words

I don’t understand, but I am told

That’s what makes her heart full of gold

She’s one of a kind, this sister of mine

REPEAT CHORUS

I’m 73 and she’s 71

But that’s OK

I’m proud to know her and tell her story

And it’s not over, all Heaven knows her

And the angels wait to welcome

This Lion Mother, hear her Roar!!!!
