Walk Up the Hill
About Betrayal
By Barbara Jones
She’ll let you down,
He can’t be found
They’ll confuse you, not be around
Promises, words, fall to the ground
No matter what, you give a lot
Take time to talk, that’s when they walk
Here today, gone tomorrow
Be on the lookout
CHORUS
They want to know you and be a friend
But they get in your mind, learn how to offend
Find out how to hurt you, play you
Then it happens, they are absent
Sucked you dry, how to make you cry
When am I gonna learn? I sigh
So, I shut the door, can’t take no more,
My heart is sore, I love them more
Am I ever gonna be able,
To trust or is it all a fable
It was easier when I was younger
Looking for me in another
But I discovered it was me, looking in the mirror
That comes with pain, tries to make you insane
So, I withdraw sit alone awhile
Think and meditate and it brings a smile
I survived in Jesus
Went the extra mile
We grow and learn
As we go into the world
And we make choices
As we walk with Jesus
REPEAT CHORUS
It works out together for good
Like he knew it would, while walking
Up that painful hill
He’s been thru it all, follow me, I’m following him
Alive! I survived! Because Jesus is inside
I have to, you have to
Swallow our pride and decide
Come to Jesus, who’s on your side
Look back, remember, no matter what
He’s got your number, there will come a time
When your name is called, neighbor
Will you say yes or no to the Savior
Time stands still waiting for you
Yes, you and he and whatsoever
No sin too great, no matter the weather
Come just as you are, to your Lord and Savior
REPEAT CHORUS
