I’m Not Going Back

I’ve packed my bags, yes, some things I’ve left behind
Decided in 2024 some things I just don’t want to find,
That’s right, as I journey on into year 2025,
There are some things that can’t stay alive,

Yes, it’s the lying, back biting and ugly ways,
That have piled up this year for some days,
And weeks then months turned into a year,
Oh no, I’m simply not having it dear.

Oh no, I’ve packed them up you see,
No more will these negative vibes bother me.
I’m not going back to the things of yesterday
I’m going to get rid of them right away.

That’s it, I’ll start a new in 2025,
Don’t want to carry those burdens as long as I’m alive,
That’s right, so I must do what I must do,
So as 2024 comes to an end let me say goodbye to you.
Yes, let me say goodbye to hatred, deceit and despair

I’m traveling light in 2025 so haters beware,
For in 2025 you will not get to me,
I’m not going back to that misery.
Oh no, I’m not going back to the drama of 2024,

I’ve packed up and moved on to so much more.
You say what’s this more I’m talking about?
Well, let me break it down to you, have no doubt.
In 2025 there’s no room for jealousy and envy,

I’m leaving that pain in the rear-view mirror you see.
I’ve moved on, that’s it, I’ve closed the door,
To all the ills, hurts and pains of 2024
This new year, oh, it will be a better one,

And now you’re asking why? Let me tell you son,
2025 will be a great year for me,
Because I’ve decided it is simply going to be.

I’ve packed up all the negative vibes of the past,
And I’m trusting God that positive thoughts are here at last,
If you put God first, he promised us He’d make a way,
So, I’ve packed up those terrible trials of yesterday,
And sent them signed, sealed and delivered to God,

I know some of you may find this very, very hard,
But He’s the reason I will be able to start a new,
In 2025, so now, c’mon, how about you?

Pack up all your troubles and your strife
Give it to God so you can enjoy your life
Oh yes, He’ll ease your troubled mind,
And give you the peace you’ve been trying to find.

Well, I’m all done and ready for this new year,
Come on 2025, may you bring nothing but good cheer,
For me and mine as we pass your way,
From me and my family, have a Happy New Year, that’s what I say,
