We give thanks to God great and small
We give thanks to you God the father of us all,
For you have brought us from a mighty long way,
So as writers, we honor you on this Thanksgiving Day.
Father, we thank you for all that you’ve given,
Thank you for allowing us to keep on living,
And growing and sharing our written word about you,
Lord, please help us with everything we say and do.
May the things we say and the words we write,
Continue to be pleasing in your sight.
May our written words lift a bowed down head,
May our written thoughts encourage strength instead,
Of worldly choices that lead us into temptation,
Father God, please help us out of every situation,
We may encounter that is not of you,
Keep us aware of the things we shouldn’t do,
So, on this Thanksgiving Day of 2024,
We will continue to search and to find more,
Words to write in honor of you,
Because writing is what we truly love to do.
